Argentina border closed until September 1st

While not specifically Copa related but certainly has an effect on Copa flights

I'm guessing that when latin-american countries re-open their airports, they'll impose quarantine rules or testing requirements for arriving passengers that will effectively preclude business and leisure travel.

Guessing we will see 14 day quarantines as things start to open back up. I did read where some airlines and IATA are trying to get Argentina to re consider the September ban. Will be interesting to see if any other Latin American countries open any earlier than this or if others follow this lead.

Has anyone heard an update as to the status of entry and quarantine requirements in Argentina for US Citizens/residents? I see bookable Delta flights from ATL to EZE beginning in early October.

However it looked like a few days there were flights in September, but they appear to be gone now.

Argentina is looking at the “possibility” of pushing flights back 60 days at least but no official statement has been made. As of right now it seems there will be “special flights” in which are for sale but only for Argentine nationals and residents. AR has some from Miami on specific days next month and AA as far as I can see is running daily flights. In Expert Flyer it shows AA’s frequencies as daily starting 9/9 until 10/6 ( it is bookable with miles also ). So any other airlines coming from the U.S. have pushed back to October since the Argentine govt isn’t really communicating about if flights will resume on September 1st. Let’s just call it a developing situation where you really only want to book something with miles.
