Anyone Notice Changes to Status Upgrades?
 

Last year as a Silver member I received Status upgrades 24 hours in advance on 5 of 7 flights between LAX and PTY. I hit Gold in December and did not get an upgrade on my only flight in 2017 as a Gold member.

In 2017 I have taken 6 flights and I have only received the 48 hour upgrade twice. Two other times Business class was full well in advance, but the 2 other times there were multiple seats available even 24 hours out and no upgrade?

On one of these flights there was still one empty seat the morning of the flight that eventually filled shortly before I checked in.

On the other flight, there were 6 empty seats at check-in and I finally was upgraded after the flight was mostly boarded, it ended up leaving with 4 open seats in Business Class.

So as a Gold member I am 3 for 7 as far as upgrades... My original suspicion was that it was because I was buying my tickets via expedia, but my last flight was bought through Copa and the experience was the same.

Has anyone else noticed a change?
