Double Status Qualification Miles Offer - Targeted?
 

I received this email from Connectmiles this week:
Is anyone/everyone else with some status receiving this offer, or is it targeted?

I'm thrilled about it. Reaching Platinum on segments alone this year was becoming a challenge for me, but this changes everything. It looked like Gold could be it for 2017. Now, one extra Thanksgiving trip to SFO, a trip already needed to MIA and the flights already booked are going to get me to PP again on miles. :D

I know... I'm a status snob, but years of 1K followed by introductory PP status with Connectmiles = lots of upgrade instruments, have my upgrade percentage a solid 100% for years now, plus I actually like flying Copa. Can't say that about many airlines anymore.

Copa has their issues, but they almost always depart and arrive on time, serve edible food up front, have nice seats in their new 737-800s and always have good service onboard. Add in that I've never had one word of grief about my CPAP, and it's such a nice break from AA.

Their prices aren't always the best, but compared to buying J tickets on AA, they still save me hundreds per trip.

6 segments Silver
8 segments Gold
10 segments Plat
12 segments Pres Plat

I'm too lazy to compare this to their standard chart to see if it's really a great incentive. I'm going to hit Silver based on miles with 1 more segment anyway.

The offer above is interesting and the best I have seen if it only takes 12 segments for PP

I believe the offers are targeted, as I was emailed an offer for "Double Segments" from September 15 - December 15.

I would have much preferred "Double Qualification Miles" or the "Fly X Segments" as most of my CM flights are non-stop from the US to PTY.

My wife who is also PPlat received the same offer.

I got the double segments one, which unfortunately is not much use to me. The miles one would have been much better

Wow @YadiMolina. You can get Pres Plat for ~$900 (fly back and forth from PTY to Colombia)

PP for three RT connecting itineraries (e.g., SJO-PTY-MDE) seems like a pretty good deal.

Received this, too. Looks like 6 x PTY-DAV at US$113 per r/t would be a fairly cost-efficient way of getting to PP, it seems 3 r/t per day should be doable if everything operates on time, so two days of flying back and forth.

I also got this same offer. I credited all my *A flying to Copa this year and it will pay off I will end up just above 50k EQM and keep *G for another year. Yeah partner rates on LH and stuff were terrible but I don't really have miles in any other *A program so I might as well just ride it out with them. It has been nice flying UA and having lounge access even on the domestic legs.

I wonder if this was only sent to people who matched from UA last summer.

My gf made Copa silver 2 months ago and didnt receive any offer. Another friend who has made Plat this year on Copa (didnt match from UA last summer) also didnt get any offer

Well at least in my case I still haven't hit any reqaul status I am sitting at 24,950EQM at the moment. So no status for 2017 yet have it all booked though and will be done on 12/4. I haven't flown any segments on Copa this year at all.

I also got the 6/8/10/12 offer - I am trying to figure out what probably PP is worth to me.

I have mapped out 12 segments over 2.5 days for about 1200 dollars (not including hotel, etc...) It would be a crazy 2.5 days.

Hmm, I didn't get this offer. I matched to UA status last summer and have also flown Copa several times in 2015 and 2016. Given Copa's good upgrade odds with status, I'd like to requalify. Would anyone be willing to post a link to see if it works for those who didn't get the email?

I got the same email again a couple of hours ago (new subject this time with "Second Call" mentioned). Unfortunately it's double segments again which is not useful for me

Me too, they repeated the 12 segments offer.

Serendipity. My job sent me on 8 segments. So I arranged for 4 more segments on my own dime. However, there's absolutely nothing shown on my profile on connectmiles.com to indicate any sort of progress to this revised goal. Given the general functionality of the Copa website and their customer service, I don't have a lot of confidence that this target will be easily recognized.
