Miles credited to UA MP with Copa Upgrade to J
 

I'm curious if anyone has experience bidding on a last minute Copa upgrade from economy to business while crediting the flight to UA.

The fine print says that miles will be credited based on the original fare class, but I'm wondering if this really happens in practice, or if one ends up getting the 50% PQM bonus.

It would be a rare airline that gives upgraded COS bonuses for someone who did not pay for the J seat (not an upgrade fee), so don't sit by the computer waiting for it.

It's certainly not something I would "expect", but I wanted to see if anyone had recent experience. There is a thread on the Copa board from a couple of years ago where someone got the COS bonus when credited to Aeroplan, but I don't know if that was a glitch with Copa or Aeroplan (or if it had been fixed). Which is why I asked on the UA board.
