Copa incorrectly crediting miles nightmare!
 

On December 23 I flew on a Copa issued reservation YUL-PTY with my father.

Myself crediting miles on Connectmiles, My father on MileagePlus.

When we checked in my Connectmiles PresPlat number was added to my reservation (even though it was inserted at time of booking it had misteriously disappeared) while my fathers MileagePlus number was correctly inserted (showing UA*G on the boarding pass).

It is important to note that My father also has a Connectmiles PresPlat account but needed the miles from the YUL-PTY to be credited on MileagePlus as he had approx 98800 status miles and needed to renew his 1K status.

Well fast forward to December 30, miles are still not present on his United account, so we check the Connectmiles account and look at that, the miles from the YUL-PTY segment have been posted there!

I immediately called Copa and they said: "yeah we see that the number in the reservation and boarding pass (meaning no upgrades or any other Connectmiles benefits could have been used) was the United number but as you used the Connectmiles number the next day (flying on a different leg, different day from arrival) we just put all the miles on Connectmiles, please send us an email and wait 14 days for an answer".

We sent some emails to the various addresses they gave us but after more than 14 days no answers from anybody.

We also explained the problem at the Panama Copa Club and the very friendly lady (the one working in the office behind the entrance) said to send her an email with copy of reservation and boarding pass but unfortunately no answer from her either.

I contacted United explaining the problem and they said that Copa has to deal with it, UA already tried crediting the miles but Copa answered the miles were credited on their own program.

Now I contacted Copa again, they gave me yet another email address, I sent them an email very clearly asking to remove the miles from Connectmiles and credit them to UA.

I am majorly pissed, my father is older and having a 1K status really helps him on those long haul flights he takes, missing 1K status by 1200 miles not even by his fault (that leg would have credited way more than needed) is not fair.

If anybody knows a way to solve this issue please help! January is almost over and I don't want my father to drop to plat for something so stupid!

P.S.: Copa screwed up on the return as well, at check in on the return my fathers UA number was on my boarding pass (:confused:) and of course I still haven't gotten my miles! Oh and got the new E190 "business class" on SAP-PTY, it's more like UA Economy Plus with better food.
