Not surprising given the large Chase relationship btwn UA/CO

Can someone post the release...on iPhone now

sucks...but glad I got the PP card. Amex is going to lose a lot of plats, im sure many will downgrade to a amex gold without this benefit.

Press release here.

After Sept. 30, 2011, Amex cardholders won't be able to transfer membership rewards points to the OnePass program. Also, platinum/centurion Amex cardholders won't get complimentary access to the PC.

That PClub part is going to be a big deal to some folks.

That's a shame. The AmEx partnership was a nice benefit, but has been generally made redundant with the PPlus card.

As long as AmEx retains its relationship with AC/NH etc., the blow is lessened in terms of using MR points for *A flights, though.

I have an International Dollar Amex... I wonder does this apply to all Amex cards or just US-issued cards?

I will cxl Amex plat unless delta becomes pref carrier at work. new York area flyers will be angry at co over it -- they lose ability to move Corp card miles over

So glad I bit the bullet several years ago and got Lifetime PC (and turned in my Amex Plat card).

I think the only *A carriers that accept membership rewards points are AC, NH, and SQ. I don't see US on the list.

I agree this might be a problem. Lots of corp travelers use Amex cards...

Yes and no. If you had the AmEx and only fly on CO and only use it for lounge access and mileage accrual then the PPlus is a reasonable replacement. If you use other airlines or other benefits that the AmEx offers then the PPlus really is a sad imitation.

US is not a redemption/transfer partner but Centurion members still get US Platinum IIRC.

Yup, change duly noted. I must have confused the recent mailer I was sent about (unrestricted) access to US clubs.

I know, which is why I carry both. However, for a CO flyer, PPlus offers better travel benefits.

Agreed (I'm one of them). But Amex plat will still get us into AA, DL, and US lounges.

Unless you are fanatical CO customer (or live in Houston), I think Amex plat is a much better deal (even without CO in the mix) than the Chase PP card.

Of course, losing CO is a huge blow, no question about it.
