Requesting a second meal? (Seconds)

FAs... the current thread about a child's meal gone missing made me wonder if there were any passengers who request 'seconds' on TATL flights (or domestic even)? Is it a frequent thing, or inappropriate? Anyone ever get the 'are you going to eat that?' look?

I do it from time to time when I am hungry. I find they often have extras because people did not want their meal for one reason or another.

there was a BBQ sanwich or something meal one time when I was in Y. One of the persons in my row said she didn't want her meal. If I had known it was that good, I would have asked for hers to. It just felt weird for me to do so.

No problem at all. No guarantee that there will be leftovers though. Just do us the favor of waiting until the service is over so that we have a chance to make sure everyone is served.

I ask sometimes when I'm a PAX.

I've found that it's usually not a problem in F/J, but I've never tried in Y.

The stuff they feed you is so bad that I wonder why you would even want the first one, neverless seconds. You better bring your tums or pepto bismol aboard the flight. You'll need it after you scoff down that so called food they serve you.

Not when you're running ragged, have a super short connection and are starving. Then it's the best meal in the world.

Wow, I'm sure glad you're here to make this striking distinction. Since your word is clearly universal truth about every meal CO serves on every flight every day, there is no doubt in my mind that eating a meal served by CO will cause personal spontaneous combustion...

Anyway, the way I figure it, CO calculates the amount of service items loaded on each aircraft as part of the cost of operating the flight; if, after everyone is served that would like to be (and this is important), there are extra meals left, then have at them. Last time I flew TATL Y on CO I had three seats for myself and a friend. We requested and shared the meal for the middle unoccupied seat we paid for after everyone else had been served and were happily accommodated. The beef was good that day.

Hence, this is why movieman123 is on my ignore list. It's too bad he's responded to and quoted, since then I have to read his drivel every so often.

I'm pleased with the food served on CO flights. If you don't like the food, take another airline. Oh, yea they only serve food in F.

Wow you are easily pleased. I don't fly CO anymore I fly on CX now where they serve real food. Also the so called food they serve in CO is no better then what they serve at the salvation army.
