First Class on Regional Jets
Just curious - does CO have any plans to add FC service on any of it's regional jets (ala United Explus)?

We don't fly larger regional jet's like all the other major airlines. The only RJ we fly is the 50 seater and they would never add first class to it. If we do ever get any jet's with 70-100 seats, they would be mainline flown and have F/C.

i read on a.net about embraer researching the possibility of a 100-125 seater. cheaper to operate than a small 737, but large enough that it would hypothetically fall under co mainline. and of course it would have FC then

Q400 is 74 sets of Colgan Air glory....sorry I should have clarified that I was hoping maybe they'd stick some better seats on it. After the Buffalo crash I imagine CO can't think that highly of Colgan though, so maybe they'd find it wasteful spending money on how the Q400 service is received outside of convincing the public that they're safe to fly on?
The Q400 is incredibly safe, and so is Colgan. |

Uniteds E170s and CRJ 700s makes regional jetting a much better experience with both F and E+.
Something worth looking into for CO? |

Is this precluded from the scope clause in the current contract?

Continental's ex red headed baby twin step sister, COPA, flies E190's with a 1-2 configured 10 seat FC cabin. It is very nice for 1-2 hour hops around Central America. 1A gets you everything - ailes, window, bulkhead. Almost a private jet experience! If they are looking for a model to follow they already had it.
O O OO O OO O OO OO OO OO OO OO OO OO OO OO OO ETC... ..... |

Something worth looking into for CO? They are cramped, noisy, the windows are in the wrong place and they are just extremely uncomfortable overall. And I was in E+ on my most recent flight... I have horrible memories of flights in the past down in the back near the engines - it was awful. |

I hope they never even look at the CRJ-700.

I actually like UA's CRJ 700's. I have flown them in E+, E- and F. Much better than US's CRJ 200 and CRJ 900, which are known on the US forum as the "bun-busters."
For as infrequently as I end on on RJs, I really don't mind them. On the 145, so long as one gets the exit row on the A side, it's not a half-bad flight for an hour or 2. Anything less than 3 or 4 hours, and I couldn't really care less about F, anyhow. |
I like the CRJ 705s. I flew up in Exec on AC Jazz and thought it to be a good experience. IFE throughout.
