EUA EQM Question

I booked a flight from EWR-LAS via corprate travel through AMEX. My outbound flight was a W fare and was showing up as 50% EQM in my reservation. I knew about this and was really annoyed since the flight is tomorrow and with DEQM if it was at 100% with my return flight would make me gold by like ~80 miles. Unfortunately there was nothing I could do about this while booking since I had to book the cheapest flight. Anyway I just received my first ever EUA email about an hour ago. While it made me very happy it also really surprised me because I am now seeing my reservation show that my flight tomorrow earns 100% EQM. I think I read in the FAQ somewhere that after being upgraded you keep the same miles as the originally booked ticket. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

You earn based on purchase. CO.com will show different because it isn't good at actually getting the details right on credit, especially on cases where there is an upgrade involved.

You could've booked PHL-IAH-LAS for cheaper than the EWR flight alone, and that might have gotten you to gold faster. There are other tricks for EWR (PM me for details) to pad your EQMs.
