Ship 202
We are flying from EWR-YVR on Saturday 6/13. The PDA site says it is ship 202 with 144 seats in coach on the 737-800. When I go to seat guru it says that is version 2 of the aircraft with no entertainment but does have power nose to tail. However, the PDA site says it has entertainment by no power. Can anyone clarify?

Most of the 738s have no power and IFE with overhead screens. There are a few that have nose to tail power and no IFE (waiting for LiveTV to be installed later this year). I'd trust what the PDA site says.

As a reminder, co.com gives you this information now under flight status. I don't even use the pda site anymore, since it's all here.

Simply put, SeatGuru is wrong about the CO 738s and 739s because there are too many variations and SeatGuru hasn't bothered to keep up.
But way slower to load all the graphics and ads and whatnot.

There are no 738s with power nose-to-tail. The 738s getting power are only getting it through the rear exit row; only the 73Es (737-900ER) are being delivered with nose-to-tail power. At least that is what I was told and what I put in the FAQ (and also what is reported on the CO inflight power page).)

Thank you everyone for the info. At least the aircraft is half full for this transcon!

202 looks like an airplane that has had the aft galley/lav mods carried out. I suppose the power will come when the aircraft goes in for LiveTV conversion. Evidently the interior mod (removing 2L galley, replacing it with a lav, adding 29ABC) is a separate line from any other work.
I disagree that SeatGuru hasn't bothered to update its CO listing, for example, they now only include the 50/235 777 config, correctly identify the 14/141 738s as Micronesia-based only, and make the 16/141 and 16/144 distinction in the domestic 738 fleet.

For example:
Continental began offering complimentary Wi-Fi on this aircraft in January 2009. Passengers have access to Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger and BlackBerry e-mail and BlackBerry Messenger services.
They also mention the internet installation on all the 738 variants and on the 753. Those planes will get it eventually but it just isn't there now.
Also incorrect on their site there are gems like (738v1):
On select 737-800s, every seat in first class and every other seat in economy have regular 110v AC power ports located just below the seat cushion.
Maybe the problem is that they've updated too much, to the point that they put benefits out there way ahead of when they are actually being implemented.
