NW Website, NW Metal, DL Flight # - Any Gotchas?

I'm looking at flights to CLT in late August. This trip will primarily be dictated by schedule, and right now CO is losing, and NW is winning. When I searched on NW's website, I got the following:

8/29
DL 4028 (NW metal - A319)
LAX-MEM 7:10AM - 12:46PM

DL 3562 (NW metal - CR9)
MEM-CLT 1:45PM - 4:20PM

8/31
NW 3590 (NW metal - CR9)
CLT-MEM 7:00AM - 7:50AM

NW 179 (NW metal A319)
MEM-LAX 8:40AM - 10:49AM

Has anybody traveled a mixed itinerary like this, all on NW metal? Are there any "gotchas" with upgrading the DL flight # as a CO elite?

Also.....I have never flown NW before, much less through MEM, so I am wondering if a 50-minute connection from an Express flight to a mainline flight will be an issue. I won't be checking any luggage.

I don't think you would have any troubles. I've flown through MEM several times and it seems like an efficient airport. Furthermore, your flight is early enough that there would be very little way for it to be delayed IMO.

The only "gotcha" is perhaps 50% EQM depending on fare class.
