CO Offer: Change ticket, get 500 miles

http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...romoCode=A7267

IMO I don't think this is a good promotion; it really only works for those with no change fee tickets, so I guess it's really targeted.

I assume that a qualifing change includes the SDC fee. If it does that means 20 miles per dollar earned for Elites and 10 miles per dollar earned per each non-elite ticket change. Not a bad deal if my math is correct at this hour! Also will this just encourage people with a flexiable ticket to book on a flight they dont want and then go back and immediately change the ticket?

So.....If you have a fully refundable ticket for a trip a month or so out, could you move it around daily for the points?

No. From the fine print:
Limit one bonus per ticket.

So, when I'm connecting through IAH and have booked a lengthy connection to get a lower fare, I can get on-line after my arrival at IAH and do a no-charge connecting SDC to an earlier flight while getting a 500 mile bonus.

There's something screwy here and - I get to do it next week!

Nope: from the t&c:
Bonus will post automatically after all segments are flown.

BTW, slightly OT....I heard from an Elite Desk agent that there is no more no-charge SDC with CO (since about 4 months is what she told me). Is this true?
So, if you reach the airport early, you have to pay 25$ (as Gold/Plat) for the SDC?

Anyone knows the correct answer? Thanks.

This is what I was told in LAS a couple of weeks ago.

There is a no charge SDC ONLY for a connecting flight, when your inbound arrives early and there is a flight available for you.

The GA references are unofficially documented in post 36, and others of this thread

A change to your originating flight still costs you $ (25 or 50).

Thanks SuperG1955. I should have studied the other thread carefully. I appreciate the info.

I think it's implied:

Terms and Conditions:

Tickets from all booking channels are eligible for the bonus as long as the change is made using continental.com. Each person in the reservation with a OnePass account number will receive the bonus. Bonus will post automatically after all segments are flown. Reissue must be completed during promotional period of June 1 - Aug. 31, 2009, to qualify. The ticket must contain at least one Continental flight number to qualify for the bonus. Only Continental operated and or Continental ticketed codeshare flights are eligible for bonus. Offer subject to change without notice. Bonus miles do not count towards Elite status. All terms and condition of the OnePass program apply.
Note the extensive use of singular. Also, as the bonus doesn't post until you actually fly the segments, it seems to me that you're unlikely to get multiple bonuses. Otherwise, we'd all be booking the lowest fare refundable to someplace, make as many changes as possible until the flight (hundreds, thousands, more) and reap the rewards. As unlimited yields an irrational result, I'd guess that it is limited to one.

Interesting, since it also says:

There is no limit to the number of bonus miles you can earn, so manage your reservations online quickly and easily.
