No thanks. Fight your own fight and leave your customers out of this.

Nope, you will be very much involved when we go on strike. Thanks to President Obama's recent appointment to the National Mediation Board, It may take 1 -3 years but we are patient and very much looking forward to taking back ours.

The people seeing these bands with such vulgar language will not be Mr. Kellner, but will be us, the customers. Obviously by your previous statements, this is your intention as you want us to "e-mail or write a letter to Larry Kellner" about this. Targeting customers is not the way to go and another reason why unions have such bad connotation.

Folks, if you do not have anything constructive to say please just move on to another thread. We have an offline dialogue regarding this post and will proceed once we have an agreement.

That's pretty rough...the fupm sequence from Goodfellas, don't you think?

Personally, I am all for pilots being compensated fairly and treated as a management function, which it is.

Also, I understand your frustration with CAL's management and the way pilots are treated.

So it's not surprising that people have taken to wearing fupm bracelets.

In the meantime, Kellner makes as much in one week as the highest paid CAL captain, and the company is losing money.

Still, posting on FT is a type of p.r. and you have to be careful how far you push the envelope, because scenes from Goodfellas do not do much to help the cause, quite frankly...

I enjoy debating with you. At least you get it. Frankly and honestly since there is absolutely no "dignity and respect" and "working together" from our management team towards our pilots we have had it.

Thank god we finally elected real union leadership and now if we have to act like a bunch of mobsters to get what we deserve, so be it.

Yeah so much for freedom of speech. Maybe once you close this thread I should look into a lawsuit against the ownership of this message board. Might make for some good press????

A strike could quite likely be devastating to you and the company in the long haul, particularly in this economy. I'm glad to see that you're willing to risk the jobs of your peers and the overall success of your company for your own needs.

The world could do with one less major carrier, so be careful where you tread.

As it's been stated, this is not the venue to air your issues. This is an issue between you and your management and to attempt to drag your customers into your fight demonstrates your lack of professionalism.

There is only one appropriate response to your quote above. I don't care, FUPM!

As one of the original FTers, I have seen many Pilot vs Management spats on FT. Without fail, 95+% of FTes come down on management side. All it does is get the pasengers (us-who pay your salary) mad at the pilots. I respectfully suggest you find another way to vent your anger.
I have yet to figure out how (supposedly) professionals desire to cause their employer financial harm helps them in the long run. No passengers-no airline-no pilot jobs.

The First Amendment applies to government attempts to restrict speech, not attempts by private individuals to restrict speech.

Maybe so maybe not. Either way would make some news and bad PR for this forum and Larry.

How exactly would it be bad PR for Mr. Kellner?

Definitely so. From the U.S. Constitution:

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I honestly don't think the OP is a pilot. I think he's a union basher who's trying to create a flame war so that we get real mad at the pilots and write letters and make phone calls to Smith St. demanding that they nail the pilots to the wall in negiotiations so that he get's his jollies knowing he helped crush the union.
