No IFE??
This is the second flight I took today where a plane did not have ANY IFE. What gives, why do they even make planes with no TVs. Its not like there were TVs and they didnt show anything, but it just didnt have any TVs. First flight was EWR to LAS and today was EWR to DFW. They seemed like newer planes as well. :td:

Most likely aircraft that are slated for LiveTV installation but have not yet received same.
Personally, I prefer those planes that have no IFE, that way I'm not forced to watch for the 28th time the same damn movie/tv show/whatever that I didn't want to watch in the first place anyway. To each their own. |

The aircraft with no IFE have power in every seat. I find that much more useful than the IFE.

Or how about follow AA's practice (I think?) and change programming twice a month. Certainly agree that watching "he's not that all into you" and "mall cop" five times a month is well...insane. The thing is you're going to end up watching it whether you like it or not.

This is where the investment in an iPod and a good set of headphones makes stuff like this a non-issue.

The planes I commute home on do not have IFE (735 and 733). My noise canceling headphones and my iPod are a life saver! |

As a guy who only flies once every 4-6 weeks I find IFE quite nice. I rarely take the time to sit and watch a movie start to finish in my home RL, but on the plane.....what else do I have to do. *shrugs*
Probably >50% of all movies I have watched for the first time in the last few years have been on a CO plane. And a few of them were actually pretty good. :) I like IFE |

And I agree that I'd rather power than the TV/movies. |

Same here, one can only watch High School Musical 3 so many times before it gets boring :D
I always get especially excited about flying with AVOD... and then don't take much advantage of it. I've got enough "on demand" on my iPod, laptop, and ebooks. But HSM3... I hope they never take it off the queue! :D Just kidding. Please make the sequels stop. |
