If you are on I-295 in NJ going north once you are above Burlington it gets interesting. If you continue on I-295 North you will eventually end up on I-95 South in Pa. If you are using I-295 you would need to then take I-195 to the NJ turnpike (also known as I-95). Leave it to NJ to make a circle out of a interstate. And if you take I-95 north through Pa in crosses under the Pa turnpike (I-276 in that area), but does not connect. It is easy to get on the Pa turnpike at the Bristol interchange. Exit I-95 at Route 413 (South stay left on off ramp) to I-13 North to Pa turnpike connector bridge (about 10 minutes time). And if you stay on I-95 north through Pa into NJ without turns you end up on I-295 south.
Depending on where you are coming from 202 to NJ to 78 to Newark Airport. I am in Bucks County so this is my route. Just more reason to bite the bullet and take the flight from PHL regardless of carrier. Depending on where in Bucks County (my grandmother lives in Fairless Hills), I'd just get on the PA tpk, head east dumping me right on NJ tpk at exit 6. I go to EWR all the time this way. |
Well, here it comes. My first flight on US next week, and I've been downright terrified by some of the posts over on the US board. At least I'm on the E 190, which makes me feel a bit better than the 734...maybe irrational, but that's just me. I like newer metal :-)
The timing just didn't work out when getting to EWR - and as I know now (but didn't a few weeks ago), my travel will be mainly PHL to MIA/FLL/TPA/MCO/JAX. I took AA to Miami, but as far as direct flights go...looks like I'm on US for a lot of the rest. Here's hoping that (as in many places) the negative posts outweigh the positive ones just because most positive experiences never get posted. Update you soon! I miss EWR already, can't believe I'm even saying that...EWR is just....home. |

Service is professional and the on-time record is excellent (US is actually doing very well in this category). Also, I find US's coach seat considerably more comfortable than the CO coach seat. |
OP, even when WN doesn't have non-stop service to certain destinations, they often have direct flights, which usually add no more than 45-50 minutes on the ground (and you will not miss a connection).
WN does not serve MIA but has ample flights to FLL/TPA/MCO/JAX. That's just my $0.02. |
I really don't get all the pi$$ing and moaning that goes on about US. I have flown them a few times this year ( 4 trips CLT-SFO and back) and haven't seen anything substantially worse than Delta's or United's product. Maybe I've just been lucky or maybe they get a bad rap on FT. I know that having to go through PHL can't make it any better thats for sure.

I would tend to agree. They're about the same as all the rest. Now of course they wouldn't be my first choice in general. I think flying into/out of PHL is bad in general. |

As far as the E-190, I think this is the best narrow-body a/c flying domestically today. The best versions are on B6 (leg room) and AC (AVOD & power at each seat), but the US E-190 is fine, too. Remember, never a middle seat, real overhead baggage compartments. It's got all the advantages of a mainline narrow-body a/c without any middle seats. |
