Status challenge for quick elite?
 

Does Continental do status challenges (for 1/2 or set # of flown miles) ?

I remember reading about this in the past and can't remember if CO also did it. Reason: I have a friend joining me on a couple of international trips that wants to match my CO status quickly.

They will likely match elite status from another carrier but I have not heard of them regularly offering a challenge similar to AA's approach.

Thanks for the quick reply. Turns out that he can go for NW Gold via the triple mileage on the international trips and than match gold for gold possibly, or apply the mileage without the tripling to Continental which lands him between silver and gold with a possibility to get gold via more flights this year.
I'm recommending that he not waste a status match for this.
