Bf upgrade fee refundable ?

I did a search but could not find exactly what I was looking for.

I have a refundable B fare ticket LHR-EWR 1-way with confirmed upgrade to BF. Paid the $100 fee and used miles when I booked the ticket.

If I cancel the trip I know I get the miles back but do I get the $100 fee back as well ?

No, the fees are non refundable.

I believe, dear sir, that you are mistaken...
I think the fees are refundable too, and CO Insider posted something about it some time ago. I'll see what I can find...

ETA: I believe, dear sir, that I am mistaken!!!
Since the upgrade was confirmed TMOTEE probably does not get the $100 back...
Apologies for ever doubting Mr TommyC80

Thanks.

Of course I will check with CO but as everyone knows it is better to have the info at hand since sometimes the agents do not know the rules.

It is fully refundable as of ~November.

Since you are a platinum there is no fee to redeposit the reward that was issued to you. Were you of lesser elite status you'd pay the $150 and then get your $100 refunded.

GREAT ! Thanks for the link.

I knew I had read something but I could not find that thread.

It is 20,000 miles.

I can confirm when I cancelled the ticket the miles were put back into my account and I recieved the $100 refund for the upgrade. Didn't even have to remind the agent. She did it all automatically.

That's not ideal, I did call the CO OP desj and they said 10k miles... and looking online B is : Discount Full Fare Economy" and earns 150% miles and 2 points....

My experience with my last deposit was not so easy, I moved flights and did not re wait-list... my USD350 came back, but miles redeposit took a phone call 2 weeks later to get the miles back...
