Holideck Lounge - LHR
On a past international flight, I tried to use my Platinum Elite status to get a pass for the Holideck Lounge and was unsuccessful. I checked the CO site and it looks like I should have been able to enter. My question is - now that I have a Presidents Club membership (have UK address) from my platinum status, should I have no problems entering?
Also, if I am on a flight with a non SkyTeam airline, can I enter the Presidents Club with the PC membership, or does it require a ST flight. Thanks! |
I was on a Northwest flight a couple of months ago and had no problem getting into the Holideck lounge by showing my SkyTeam Elite Plus card (via Delta) and Northwest boarding pass.

how long ago did that happen? i'm doing a MR to LHR and would like to be able to stop there (P-Club membership only right now). i read that people did have problem before but they may have fixed it now

Not missing much
The P Club site states <<Presidents Club members must be ticketed on a Continental flight to gain access to international affiliated lounges>> but doesn't specify if the same applies to those who qualify via ST Elite Plus status.
But you are not missing much anyway - in addition to being at the other end of the terminal from the CO gates, the offerings are pretty basic - coffee/tea and some booze, a few unimpressive snacks. There are wireless and a couple terminals to use, and some places to sit but no work spaces. The Upper Deck was closed wen we were there yesterday, no reason or expected duration of closure. Overall feel is more like a coffee shop than a club (of course I may just be spoiled by the great P Club product :p) |

First floor is pretty straight-forward - self-serve bar with some food options (not that great, honestly). Decent selection of alcohol. Second floor had another bar, plus a sitting area with a couple of TVs - one of them is set to the European ESPN, so good to catch up on American sports. Third floor is a nice observation deck (though on the second floor you get a good view of the southern runway at LHR). |

You should have had access to the Holideck as a ST E+ and you can access it as a PC member. It also is eligible for AmEx Platinum card access based on a post from CO Insider back when the lounge selection was made official.
As for access to a PC with a PC membership you do not have to be flying at all. So flying on a different carrier doesn't matter. |
PClub is fine
You can use your P Club card to enter any P Club, no matter what you are flying that day.

I've transited through LHR Terminal 4 several times in the last few months (as a CO Plat). Each time going on a CO flight to the US I've gotten access to Holideck. Going on a Kingfisher flight to India, though, access was denied with the ST Elite+ / CO Plat Card.
IME the food and drink offerings were better than PCs in the US, though there didn't seem to be free wireless like at PCs. More crowded furnishings and odd decor. |
