That many Plats??

I am going from lga to iah today. I figured as a plat I would be number one, if not somewhere near the top of the list especially since it's not ewr. I have been bumped further and further down. After 45 minutes of eligible OLCI time I was number six. Now I am in the double digits! There are barely any premium seats taken on the flight. I just do not understand, I have had a better position on the list on the premium ewr-iah flights. Any thoughts?? Thanks

What fare class are you in? And how many F seats are still available? Any elite at any level on a Y or B fare is ahead of you as a platinum.

Chepo class. There is only one seat now. It has been between 0 and 3 since the last two days. I cannot figure it out though, are people simply buying last minute seats and consiquently have Y fares?

I'm pretty sure that LGA-IAH with <3 days is a B at a minimum, regardless of advance purchase. CO is putting the minimum stay restrictions back in so that is driving up their fares in many cases.

I think your chances are better out of EWR since there is more frequency...I used to fly LGA-CLE allot and rarely got the bump going back home. Take also into account LGA is a quick 20 minute ride in a taxi from Midtown compared to the journey to EWR, its simply more convenient for us out of towners on day trips.

There are a lot of factors. I used to fly LGA-IAH instead of EWR-IAH when I had to connect at IAH anyway and when I was leaving from work in the city.

If everyone was like me, you might find that LGA-IAH is better for upgrades in the morning but not in the evening. Alternatively, you might find the opposite on the return (or not, as people may be returning home to New Jersey rather than heading in to work even if their flight lands in the early afternoon).

When I fly out of NY and have to connect via IAH I almost exclusively fly out of LGA (instead of EWR). EUA's on this route are incredibly sporadic and impossible to tell. I'm generally on 433 on Monday afternoon and I've seen this flight go out with empty seats in F one week and then the next I'm in back.

The super early 530am flight (did they stop that one?) and the last flight back in (leaves IAH at 655, so you get supper!) are generally solid on upgrades. I think I'm batting 100 on those.

or at least Silver

I can hear the PA annoucements now, 'Boarding will start in a few mins, we will be boarding any passenger who needs assistance and minors 1st, followed by FC then in order to get the boarding process done in a timely manner we will board the few Non-elites on this flight and finally the 95% left over who are CO and ST Elites"

I would hope that if Scott reads this that CO finally implements a boarding by Elite level rather then by a general Elite boarding as it does today, which should be done by all the Carriers who are offering 2 x or 3x EQMs

I get a lot of upgrades out of LGA (knocks on wood). But then again I'm always on the 5:30 am flight...

I've been on many flights that boarded by Elite Level (CLE-IAH and EWR-DCA, if my memory serves me correctly). I asked an agent about it once before boarding in CLE and she said that if it's over X% elite, they're supposed to board by elite status. I think x=30 or 50%. I would hope 30, but think it was 50.
