Remove the games from the IFE
 

I've had a few flights on the 752's and absolutely hate the fact that there are games on the IFE. The people (adults and kids) don't understand that you don't have to smack the screen to get it to register your touch. I've found that asking/telling the people to be more gentile on the screen only works for a few minutes, and they're back at it again. I think it would be great if CO removed the games section of the program. If people really need electronic games for the flights, either purchase a Nintendo DS or PSP and headphones.

Also, maybe it would be helpful if CO had a screen at the beginning of IFE use and when opening every game (or heck, every few minutes when a game is being played) saying something like, "Our screens are high-tech and don't require much force when touching them. Please be considerate of the passenger in front of you and be gentile on the screens."

I will admitt Once nearly after the flight was over the guy in front of me turned around and said , something like enough is enough every time you are touching the screen I feel it use a pen Please. I said I wish you would have said something to me much sooner and the pen idea is a good one and did just that

Those touch screens do not always work at the touch so at times I had to use alittle more presure to get it to do something.

Of cause with the 777s theres the control stick and no touching. So saying lets get rid of the games on IFE should be qualified to begin with.

Heck people have large and bright laptops that distrub me maybe we should also limit the size and brightness of the LTs.(Not)

They do have a video but it isn't always shown. It includes some guy turning around and glaring at the person behind them because they were tapping too hard on the screen.

I saw that one time on the 752 it was a bit funny :D
Shortly after my IFE went black and into a linux bootstrap reboot cycle.....very entertaining for a geek :)

Perhaps they need to up the realism in these games... Every time you punch the screen, your seatback punches you.:D

Someone in CO IT just cr*pped their pants.

If you use a pen you'll erode the sensitivity of the screen and the system won't last (as long as it should).

Other airlines have had touch screen PTVs for years, and this hasn't come up.

Is the issue the touch screen IFE, something about how it's mounted, or maybe the firmness of CO's Y seats?

Being that the arm rests on the 752 seats are about to fall off after a few months of service whats one more thing to replace. :rolleyes:

I think the delay in the system reacting to the touch is part of the problem so people start tapping away.

The 752 seats are less uncomfortable than the 737 seats.

Agreed. I've never experienced the sensation of sitting in front of a woodpecker on SQ.

Maybe CO has no cushioning to speed up the numbing effect. If you can't feel your body, you can't feel the pecking.
