FC seating help, please!
I am quite possibly your worst nightmare. I have been EUA'd for my flight tomorrow and I'm traveling with my 11 month old (lap child).
Plane is 737-800, 16 seats in first. They placed us in 1E and 1F, bulkhead. I'm unsure if these are good or bad for us - is the legroom really bad? I think my kiddo is gonna wanna stand up, so I think this might be a good place for us, but I need expert advice. Should we move to last row (4EF)? It's our little boy's first flight, so say a little prayer for us and all the other poor souls on that plane if it doesn't go well  Destination is Orlando so I'm guessing he won't be the only kid on the plane. Thanks in advance for any useful advice / help |

There's not as much legroom as other rows due to the bulkhead, but I think that's likely the best set of seats when traveling with a small child. He's less likely to disturb other passengers and it will be easier for him to stand up since no seat will be reclining in front of him. I'd stay where you are.

I would stick with what you have - 1E and 1F on a 738 have plenty of room for the baby to move around. Plus, it is closer to the lav if you have take him/her up there.
Appreciate it! |
definitely stay there. best seats for your situation and there will be no chance of bumping the passenger in front of you. the baby will easily be able to stand and walk in front of the two seats.

Thanks for the quick reply, and I am sure you know what you're talking about since it's YOUR SEAT! :D
Appreciate it! I know you're not on my flights tomorrow because I have 1E on both segments (and, I'm not going to MCO). ;) |
I always prefer the bulkhead because I don't like people reclining into me. I'm 6'5" and have never had an issue with the legroom in 1E-1F or 1A-1B. I agree that your seats are probably the best for you and your 11 month old.

The legroom "issue" on CO's hard bulkhead seats is not that the room is restricted so much as that you cannot extend your legs under the seat in front of you. There is plenty of room from hip to knee, but if you like to push your feet forward more rather than have them straight down below your knees then you might be disappointed with those seats. I really enjoy row 1 and think that they are the best seats to have if the kid is going to want to stand up.

With respect to 1E and 1F on the 738's, that is false, unless one is 6'2" or over.
It never occurred to me that I might have a height bias. Good catch. |
i agree... dont get the row 1 seats often,, but they seem to be the best...

Those seats work the best with no reclining seats in front and a nice little bit of real estate on the floor to set up a play yard. Stay where you are. Just remember you have to go to lavs in the back for a change table.
