When does mileage post?
I tried searching and either my keywords were bad or it just hasn't been asked.
I am just a bit short of obtaining SE. On my next itinerary, I'll cross the 25k threshold on the outbound. I've never been concerned with the posting turnaround time for mileage posting, but I'm wondering if I will kick up to SE before my return flight? Or, does the entire itinerary post after all the return is completed? |
supposed to post like 3-5 days after the flight is taken. (after each segment)

As noted, it usually takes about 3-4 days for miles to post. If you cross the threshold during the intinerary, your new status won't be automatically reflected. If you call into the OnePass service center, they can remove your OnePass number from the itinerary and then add it back. Then your status will show up. This only applies to existing itineraries.

I thought the same was true for an existing itinerary, but my wife recently turned GE and the status change was automatically reflected in her upgrade results and was printed on her boarding passes.

There is a difference between change in levels and no status to status. There is a post in the FAQ sticky (#13, IIRC) that explains the various permutations. To the OP, I'd call OPSC, explain that this trip will qualify you and that you want to make sure that it credits before your return flight and see if they will advance you the status. If explained politely and with the qualifying ticket in the near future this approach is often successful. |

And no luck on getting the status advanced. Oh well. |

So, my experience should be the same as Mrs. bobblevin's experience if the supposed to be corrected for 2008 did get corrected? Good to know.

Well, I took your advice and called a couple more times. The rep I spoke with was very kind and understood that my primary concern was ensuring that my status would be posted by the time I had my return flight - so he gave me the advance.
thank you again for the advice. |
