Another Meal Question

I don't get it, maybe the website is wrong, but shouldn't there be a F meal in EWR-MCO, especially considering it falls within the designated meal times?

Is the website or am I wrong?

Emphasis above is mine. The flights to FL are treated differently.

And do you really want "dinner" at 3:30??

EngIceDave Oct 26, 2008 5:57 pm

Having just flown from ZRH, I'm going to be on a weird schedule anyway

So, there is no meal.

BUT...i would like SOMETHING! CO is sooo unpredictable on this. "IN GENERAL" we "MAY OR MAY NOT" have meals! That is what it should read!

:td:

Correct. The PDA site doesn't even show a cold plate. You may only get a pack of nuts or pretzels.

You're leaving at 3:05....how is that within meal times? Lunch ended at 1:00 p.m. departures and dinner doesn't begin until 5:00 p.m. departures.

Florida is typically the awkward market with meals. Last time I went to Florida they did a full dinner on the 3:30 ewr-fll.

Maybe I am misunderstanding it, but I thought it was if your flight was in-air within those windows, not departure.

If I depart and 3:30, land at 6, and the window opens at 5, I assumed I was within a mealtime, especially if it was in first.

Nope, it is based on departure time.

It's true that FLA doesn't play by the same rules as everywhere else because it's an especially low yield market. It is the ONLY destination that gets short-crewed (when permitted by reg's, depending on AC) and gets modified meal parameters.

gumflyer Oct 27, 2008 12:21 am

No good solution

This isn't specifically regarding the Florida market, but someone said something about coming from another place. I wish there was a way to be able to get something to eat especially if you've been traveling on other flights and had no time to grab something in the terminal. Flights like GUM-HNL-IAH-anywhere sometimes do not allow for me to grab something to eat and the food in HNL-IAH is usually not very satisfying.

The Zurich flight arrives EWR at 1:40p eastern time. Passengers will be served a hot sandwich at around noon. And once the OP gets to Orlando at 6pm, he can go have dinner. And if he was flying BF from ZRH he can go grab some cheese and crackers at the PC at EWR (if time permits).

EngIceDave Oct 27, 2008 8:44 am

Time won't permit, I'm sure.
I have an hour and a half to get through immigration/customs and back through security.
Even though I'll be flying BF/F, that only helps with TSA security.
I guess I'll just grab a snack to carry on

I'm booked on flt. 754 on 12/14 to return to PBI. The flight leaves at 1:10 (IF there isn't a delay!!) and arrives in West Palm at 4:04 p.m. First class is showing "lunch". I thought that a bit odd. It'll be pretty much past lunch by the time they begin serving!
