Need to split flight miles between accounts

I am flying next month on an AZ flight. I want to credit my outgoing flight to my continental account and my return to my delta account. i figured since they are all skyteam it is reasonable but not sure.is this doable and how do i go about it? thanks

Yes, it is doable. Simply give your OnePass number at the counter for the outbound flight (and make sure it is printed on the boarding pass). On the return change the number at the counter (and, again, make sure it is printed on the pass). You flights should credit correctly.

so if i give my CO card at the outgoing counter they will lock it in for the whole flight ( even aith stops). then when checking in for return do it with my DL card. I am sure AZ wont be thrilled but i hope they do it.

Correct, and there isn't really any reason for them to care. They do it all the time for passengers; it just isn't that big a deal for them to change it.

cool. i guess after i ask and they print my boarding card, i should see the ff number to confirm it.

i just happened to call to confirm my flight and asked them about splitting the mileage. they said i couldnt do it. all i could do is to give the complete flight over to another skyteam member. I know i split before so am wondering if the only way of doing this is to actually do it at the gate before departure.

what i need to know is the practical way to do it with dl. if i do early checkin online i will get a dl boarding pass with that ff # when i want it as CO. do i then go to the gate and get it reprinted with the CO #. or should i try and get through security with only my e-ticket and get the CO boarding pass printed at the gate before my first leg. the flight is mia-atl-tlv.

Good luck.

In March I tried to do it with a DL itin.
No-go..."our system can only handle one ff number per itinerary."

They may have to un-check you in but they can do that. I've never had a problem with the DL folks making the change. The one time it got close they had both my CO and DL numbers in the record and it kept printing out with the DL number. Only when the agent removed the DL number did it register correctly.

Also, it turns out that some time last week DL added the ability to change your FF# on a reservation to their website. So you actually should be able to change it online no PRIOR to the check-in process, solving the problem completely.

"So remove the Delta one that I don't want there anyways."

i did see that i could change the ff to CO online. if i do that before and preprint my bp, do you think changing the record afterward wont be an issue? or is it better just to do it at the front counter at the airport

Change it online to CO if you want the credit to go to CO. If you want the credit in a different program change it to that program. After flying the outbound if you want to change it to a different carrier log back in to the web page and change it again.

The general rule is that whatever is printed on the BP is where the credit will go.

i think thats the way to go. my only question is if i lock in CO number online beforehand will it be unchangeable on the backend since it will be considered one itinerary.

No, it will remain changeable. Nothing gets "locked" throughout the trip. As I mentioned before, they may have to un-check you in if you want to change it on a segment for which you are already checked in, but otherwise you should be OK.

thanks sbm. i will do it online and precheck in for the two legs of my departure online. Assuming of course i am allowed to check in online ofr an intl flight. then after i get to my dest will change it online back to dl if it can be done wihtout an agent.
