Upgrade waitlist

Tomorrow morning I am flying PHX-CLE on #368. I am gold, and checked in at the 24 hour window. Up until now I have not received any upgrades, even though it appears that there are still 9 seats available.

I just found the link to pda.continental.com and was looking on there. It shows a standby list for upgrades. When I first looked at it there were 3 people on the list (my name wasn't on there).

I called CO and they said that my gold number is in the system and I am on the upgrade list. I just checked the pda site again and there are now 6 people on the wait list (my name still isn't there).

Am I missing something, or do I need to call back and re-double check that I am on the list?

Sorry if this is a remedial question. I don't travel on CO very often.

Regards.

If you are not showing up on the waitlist, that's a problem. Call back and explain (again) that you are looking at the upgrade waitlist and that you are not on it. Good luck :)

"dear CO support, I am going to read you the list as I see it here......can you tell me in what position do you suposedly see me ? " and then you start reading the info you see online :)

I've had it happen quite often where I didn't see myself on the list, but did end up getting upgraded when I checked my bag at check-in... can't explain it, but the information is out of sync at times it seems...

Well, I am not sure what the problem was, but it has been resolved.

I had to call twice, got disconnected the first time. Then, I was transferred to the internet help desk. After the nice woman put me on hold for a bit she came back and said that I had already been upgraded. She waited on the line with me while I double checked. First try it still said I was in coach. She put me on hold again. Tried again and I am now up in first.

My wife is on a separate ticket because I had to use a credit from a trip she didn't take a few months back. I guess I will try to get her upgraded at the airport tomorrow. If I can't get her upgraded then I am just going to give her my seat in first. She is 14 weeks pregnant and I am sure that she will enjoy the extra space.

Thanks to everybody for their quick responses.

This seems like a glitch that CO Insider might be interested in.

this happens when I do things like same day changes. Once I called the elite desk three times to whine. got the upgrage at the gate.

Same thing happened for dergon_gf LAS-CLE this prior Sunday.

Not showing on UG list on pda site, but when called elite desk, then shuffled to internet help desk, they said she was "already upgraded"

No hanges, alterations to her reservation. Booked back in July. Must be significant quirk in system.

This really won't do much. The agents on the phone cannot alter the list; it has to be done by an agent at the airport. CO Insider has posted to this effect a couple times now. It doesn't really matter all that much as long as you are on the list at the time that the GA starts clearing the upgrades, so there is plenty of time to get yourself on the list at the airport if necessary.
