Trip in Vain and EQMs
What are the rules surrounding a trip in vain on CO?
If I declare a trip in vain and get sent back to my point of origin, do I still earn EQMs and RDMs for my flown segments even though CO refunds the money for my flight? |
wow...86 people viewed this and no one knows?

In all truth, I'd never heard of "trip in vain".

My guess is that you'd automatically get credit for the segments flown and that you can call in and try for original routing credit. But I have no idea as I haven't actually declared a trip in vain after starting travel.

I had a "trip in vain" last year. A refund was credited to my card and I was put on a flight home. There was no mileage credit. There was no indication in my OnePass account that I had even flown. I was so glad to be home in my own bed that night that I couldn't have cared less. The only downside was that my luggage was lost for a week.
