ETKT vs PTKT
Can someone explain to me how this works? When a reservation is made or changed drastically it must now be e-ticketed? Is this an automated process? Why does it not occur certain times? I have tried to board and the agent tells me "oh you have a paper ticket" - and then looks at me like I'm an idiot.

CO moved to an e-ticket only policy at least a couple of years ago. So, if you have a paper ticket that was issued by a travel agent and you have CO reissue the ticket, CO will reissue an e-ticket instead of a paper ticket.

IATA agencies no longer issue paper tickets, and the vast majorty of IATA member carriers have done likewise.

I also have a ticket with AS connecting to AM, with a final destination of EZE. I'm not sure what triggered the paper (AM, EZE or the AS-AM combo), but that had to be paper as well. |
