I'll add my father's and my EUA statistics this evening.

Also, as others have stated, you should add a type of aircraft column to the spreadsheet.

Done. I created a new form to enter all the data so that they are consistent. Let me know if you prefer the form or just enter directly from the spreadsheet.

Thank You BlissWorld for starting this thread and sorting all the info into a spreadsheet. I think this is going to be very helpful to everyone. I think the aircraft type is a great add because I try to take that into account before booking a flight, but I have received some rather surprising and unexpected upgrades on 733's, 735's and 73G's. I mainly try to book on the 752's, 76X's, and 753's, but usually end up on a 738 due to last minute change or swap from irr ops. :(

Just noticed several missing aircraft types:

777
762
764 (both versions)

Yes, these are mostly international aircraft, but they do occasionally show up on a domestic flight, especially on IAH-EWR. The 762 has been scheduled on IAH-EWR at various times throughout this year, and it's going back onto the schedule for certain days of the week this fall. Also, the 764 operates an EUA-eligible route between GUM and NRT.

Last suggestion — the form doesn't let you distinguish NW-operated flights. Are we going to include these or not?

New aircrafts added.

Also, do you think we should just gather the data for CO for now? Maybe we should leave NW for the NW board :p

I think it's very well know that it it very easy to get F on NW,

Fantastic! I have entered all of my eligible flights from 2008. I am very interested to see what you do with the data - this is what I hoped to get from upgradesuccess.com, but they lack sufficient data and leave out useful information in their stats.

Please forgive my stupid question as I am new to Continental by could someone spell me out EUA? Thanks

ssullivan Sep 3, 2008 6:17 am

EUA = Elite Upgrade Automation.

It's an acronym coined in 2001 when CO developed the current system of their computer systems automatically upgrading elites, which replaced the old system of elites having to call to request an upgrade after midnight on the day that each elite level's upgrade window opened.

While the acronym technically refers to the software CO put in place to do this, the name stuck here on FT to refer to CO's complimentary elite upgrades.

Thanks for the explanation......i know useless(US) Airways back and front so switching to another airlines terminology is something I haven't had to do in a long time........

Hartmann Sep 3, 2008 6:30 am

You may want to collect exact dates. The day of the week is great but for long term trending an exact date is best. ^

Mod's, would it be possible to make this thread a sticky so it doesnt get lost?

belynch Sep 3, 2008 7:11 am

Good morning Bliss!!!

Thanks for hostin' it on the share doc. I guess, cause it was my suggestion, now I need to post my results on there. I'll get around to it.

The only downside with using the share doc is this thread will get lost and no one will know when someone adds info to it. For this reason, (since I'm anti sticky) I'd just recommend we all post a little "New info added, EWR - HEL" or something like that.

Edited to add: For those that want other airlines, maybe Bliss can just add tabs to the google doc. That way, we can have a consolidated master list across all airlines represented on FT. Now that would be a resource.

Don't forget to post your data!
