Great Experience on EWR-GVA #80 8/7/08

Title says it all. I was flying with my 2 kids in business and boarded as soon as we could. Upon boarding, the captain (Captain Philips) came to our seats and invited us up to view the cockpit. What a neat experience! My son (5yrs) was delighted and was even allowed to make a pre-flight announcement.
Upon returning to our seats, Capt. Philips had invited some more kids up front. What a nice gesture.

Seeing as my kids are still a little young (5 and 8) they are allowed to only drink water on the plane - and I was quickly grateful for that as my son spilled a whole cup on me and my seat while buckling himself in. The FA was helpful when I asked for some paper towels to clean up and instead called to the ground crew and had the cushion replaced.

And I must commend Alex, the purser. He was helpful, gracious, attentive and really seemed to enjoy his job. All the FA's I encountered on this flight seemed to be happy to be there and that reflected throughout the cabin.

Food was decent for me but pretty awful for the kids (I will skip the kids meal and let them eat cheese and crackers from now on!). And best of all, we landed 15 minutes early in GVA.

So, while I am not a frequent flier - I just wanted to share my experience. As I said to my husband upon landing - the experience was everything I remember business class flying to be and exceeded my expectations.

Hilarious, though I'm not sure that would have been good enough for her.
