First Class Drinks
So, I finally get to fly first class in a few days (in which I wasn't sleeping...:D). My flight is a domestic flight from CLE to LAX. What can I expect for lunch or dinner (I have lunch FC the way there and dinner FC on the way back)? What can I expect in terms of drinks? Do FC passengers receive free alcohol or is it $5?
Sorry about the newbie question, but I have been flying regional jets non-stop for the past 8 months... |
Use the http://pda.continental.com/info site to get information about the exact service on your flight (in terms of the type of meal it will be, not the exact menu; regulars on this route may be able to give you an idea on that), from a few days out.
Yes you will get free drinks (can't bring myself to say "beverages", as CO say on their site) :) Selection is as follows: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...s/default.aspx |
What? Free drinks in first class? Nooooooo!
J/k... Yes! You can drink your merry little heart out on us ;) May I suggest a margarita with grand marnier? |

Continental will need to start bringing more than 2-4 bottles of Grand Marnier.
I always drink every bottle on plan. |
Unlike the pitiful selection in the President's Clubs, the aircraft actually stock some decent booze. For one, they have Bombay Sapphire Gin ^ ^ ^. They also have Jack, instead of Jim. However, there's no real Bourbon to speak of (a shame, really). The Margaritas are somewhat rancid, IMO.
If I were running CO, I would definitely keep the Bombay Sapphire. However, the other liquors could use a shake-up: Bourbon: Woodford Reserve Rum: Mount Gay Eclipse Blended Scotch: Famous Grouse Vodka: Tito's (dunno if they make airplane minis) Also, they could spring for a standard tequila like Cuervo Gold and keep a bottle of Triple-Sec on hand. Those are all fairly standard or semi-premium booze that could probably be acquired rather easily in mass quantities. |
Thank you all for your help. I may try the margarita plan... although, I am more of a scotch and soda guy... :D

If you want something sweeter, you can try my regular: Disaronno (Amaretto) and Diet Coke. They usually only have 1 bottle in FC, so for rounds 2 & on, they'll have to go the back for more.
Totally OT, but I almost always get funny looks for that whenever I order Amaretto & Diet, either in the PC or on the plane. I never get those strange looks in a restaurant or bar, though. |

On the other hand, I would appreciate Pitu cachaca, plenty of limes and a bit of sugar. |
