Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots helps break my EWR/SFO upgrade drought
 

After a 0 for 60-something streak on EWR/SFO upgrades over the last 2+ years, I finally received an upgrade today flying home from SF (thought these things were only myth LOL).

How did Scott Weiland help me...here's my logic:
- Weiland gets thrown out of Velvet Revolver
- Weiland gets back together with STP
- STP decide to go on tour, with the Greek Theatre @ UC-Berkeley as a tour stop
- I stay over a Friday night to go to the show with some friends and fly home Saturday instead of flying home Thursday afternoon/Friday morning (like I do 95% of the time)
- Pick the 8:30a SFO/EWR figuring it is my best chance
- Get a battefield upgrade an hour before the flight...4 F seats open, I was #2

...and what makes this even more shocking - we landed 45 minutes early

Then a hand written thank you note should be in order ;)

Ultimately, shouldn't your thanks go to Axl then?

I assumed from the thread title that he passed out in the PC and you got his seat.

I bet he'd trade a seat for heroin as well... :D

...and on good quality, light colored, paper, too. don't skimp. something with your initials on it. blue or black ink, only. and don't forget to spell out "street" or "avenue' or "boulevard."

I think Weiland's got an Oscar Levant-Anna Nicole Smith thing going on: people only pay attention because they think he could die at any minute. :eek:
