Reward issue
 

I've been planning a trip to the UK for the past few months in November, and finally the flights I wanted opened up. I was able to snag 2 standard award FC tickets to LHR via IAH, I live in Atlanta.

The problem is that I can't grab the ATL to IAH leg except in Economy, well not too bad since I was able to get that leg on DL (meaning that it is better than Y) but would rather stay on CO metal the whole way over.

I continued to check and see if the CO FC flight will open up, so far no luck. While poking around today I found that if I bought 1 way tickets I can upgrade with miles. The price of the tickets are pretty low, about $400 for the two, but really don't want to spend the extra money. I was under the impression that an R ticket is an R ticket no matter how you got it.

Oh well, I would rather CO stay healthy but do see this as an inconsistency.
