Grrr. none of my mastercards seem to offer this (Diners Club MC, AAdvantage MC, Amtrak Guestrewards). The only thing that works with Visa/MC securecode is my BofA debit card, which I don't want to use cause I won't earn points. :D

Chase is not on this list, nor is there any mention on the Chase website about SecureCode. Does that mean our CO branded cards don't have this feature? So Co.com won't ask us?
Maybe CO (or MasterCard) trusts that the card that I've already used to purchase lots of CO tickets is being used legitimately? |
Wow, this is fantastic. Another unique number to remember in order to perform basic economic / personal activities.
Isn't the internet just great at making our lives easier? ;) |
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but it seems to be the appropriate one.
I normally book UA, but for this trip, booked on CO.com, with a combo of UA/CO flights. It's the first time I have ever seen a requirement to use Verified by Visa. This was for my UA MP visa, I had no idea chase participated (and I've had Chase cards for ~5 years). I've certainly never seen it used on this card, and when I called MP Visa to ask about it, they said lots of merchants are now requiring it, including United. I told her I had booked directly on UA's site several times in the last few months, yet was never required to set it up, or even got a message asking me to. I've seen this on a couple of other cards on occasion, but this has always been optional, with a link on the request to sign up page (albeit, a smaller one) to not use it. This is the first time there has been no such link. I understand there is a need for security, but like perezoso, think its overkill. Really, I think its more likely that more legitimate CC holders will be barred from making simple transactions than theifs stopped from using cards fraudulantly. After all, isn't that what the 3 digit security codes on the back of the card are for? |
