I've been told several times that a segment of a domestic first class award that could only be confirmed in coach and wait listed in FC would be upgraded before the EUAs. Is this not correct?

I am not seeing what is 'supposed' to happen. I am now at <4 hrs to flight and not upgraded nor on the pda standby list. A CO agent has confirmed though that I am on a waitlist. There have apparently been two people upgraded ahead of us. |

There have apparently been two people upgraded ahead of us. Maybe I'm not being clear. I'm asking about the situation that RNE posted about in which it seemed that EUAs were clearing (at 5-3-1) before waitlisted award seats. In other words, I "paid" 60,000 for a FC ticket to Mexico. I was able to get a seat on all but one of the segments, and I booked that one in coach and waitlisted it for FC. Several days out, it seemed to me that Plats had been EUAed, but I was still waitlisted. I know the fare buckets are different, but I had been told that the E bucket would be opened before the one for EUAs. When I called CO, the agent said she thought that was true, but there were no E seats open and she could not tell if anyone had been EUAed. It turns out I was given the E seat two days before the flight, so either there were no Golds or Silvers on paid tickets, or my award trumped their EUAs. I still don't know which was the case. |
