Status Match from AA

Many apologies if I overlooked something in the stickies or search (offense punishable by death on the AA board :D)....

Platinum on American, poised to hit Executive Platinum this year. Looking at potentially switching my allegiance (should CO do a *A deal)...

Will CO do a status match for my AA Status?

Yep, give OnePass a call after you've hit ExPlat.

C'mon...we mostly mock and maim. Rarely is death called for, unless the post is about food, upgrades, IFE, delays, compensation, etc. :D

If you're on your way to ExPlat it would be more beneficial to you if you got a status match at AA's highest tier rather than at mid-tier.

once you get your Exec Plat...print out your past several months of statements and email a PDF of your statements with a request for a status match. Send it to the ONEPASS email address. Good luck.

Plat

They matched a friends AA PLAT status to CO GOLD last year.

If you are gunna make EXP soon, wait so you get top-tier. Otherwise use the benefits of GOLD.

I actually did a status match last December... from AA Plat to CO Gold. I must say it's been better with CO so far, the fact that you don't have to pay to get upgraded (ala stickers from AA) is a big plus for me.

Another story is the likelyhood of getting updgraded. Out of EWR is kinda difficult, specially on routes like ATL, LAX, SFO or transcons in general. But Florida routes have been easy, which is where I fly the most. So take into account where you are flying in and out of to see how likely you'll be updgraded.

BTW, I do find CO's forum much more friendly! ^

I'd check into whether AA screws you out of elite qualifying miles if you book through anything but their site. In the case where you have to book through a company website/agent/etc, they will only give you, the business traveler, 50% EQM for most fares.
