Silver Elite Bonus Decrease???
 

Wife and I are Silvers in OnePass.
Recently took a couple of short trips on NW (K & T fares). I knew the EQMs would be only 50%. But, the surprise was that the Silver status bonus miles were lower. On the short hops, where the earned miles are the minimum (500 miles) we earned silver bonus of 167 miles only. Actual flight mileage, MSP-ORD is 333. So, 167 is 50% of that. But, on the same flights in 2007, we got 250 silver bonus miles.
Is this a new policy, or were we lucky in 2007?

On NWA, my elite bonus has always been calculated on actual miles flown and not the 500 mile minimum.

Bonus has been on actual flight miles for a while now. I do not know how long ago it started, but I've been getting bonuses based on the actual flight miles for a couple years now, both on CO and DL; I don't remember about NW partner flights but it should be the same.

Just looked through the rules one more time, and I found this:
"The bonus amount is based on the Elite status level and is calculated against the actual flight miles of each segment flown.":td:
So, I guess last year's 250 bonus on the same short flights was just lucky.

I recently noticed this as a gold. IAD-EWR didn't get the full 500 mile minimum bonus.

This isn't new; I was a Silver Elite in 2001-2002 and was getting a 50% bonus on actual miles flown back then.

Aren't the elite bonuses at any level...even plat....based on actual miles flown for OP? I thought that they were....and that this isn't unique to silvers but even plats

Yes - this is the case for all Elite levels.
