continental is SOOOO slow...
well the internet at the EWR PClub by gates 80-90. Its CRAWLING. Why do they even offer internet if its crappy all the time. The internet at the other PClubs are usually better. Any ideas on why this particular club's internet sucks.

Say something to the front desk; no one here can fix it for you. That being said, last time there was a thread about it CO Insider specifically mentioned that they were upping the bandwidth and that if we see things we should mention it to the front desk. I'm sure they'll brush it off, but that is what we were asked to do.
Oh, and it is easier to leech off that one since the entire food court below is bathed in the signal, which may contribute to the slowness. Then again, it might just be a PC member streaming audio or their SlingBox or something. Here's one of a few threads discussing the phenomenon. |

How long 'til any such password appears here?

I no longer consider the Internet a viable perk of the CO PC system.
I now use a mobile broadband card (Sprint), and it is almost always faster than the Internet I can get at the PC. |
I was at the EWR C1 club yesterday afternoon. Wireless access was incredibly slow. I didn't have time to complain, but the club was filled with people using their laptops. A password will not change the problem.

I never seem to have the same problem at busy NW clubs in DTW and I have yet to encounter the need for a password there. I did not have time to complain (it was an in and out visit to unsuccessfully snag and send e-mail) and the way they are doing credential checks in the C1 club at the main desk (the seperate credential desk is gone) it would have been time prohibative to stand in line again to do it. Calling CoInsider.... this needs to be addressed as promised... please! |
I gave up on WiFi in Presidents Club and use my Boingo account. The Boingo connection speed in EWR and DTW is MUCH faster than what CO and NW offer in their clubs.
|
I was in C1 yesterday and was very slow even though it wasn't very full. Thought it was something wrong with my computer, but reboots and tinkering with the DNS settings didn't help.
|
I beleive NW uses a password in MSP because the provider they use also provides a paid wi-fi service to the rest of the concourse. Clearly, the number of people accessing wi-fi has grown since the service was first introduced. Scaling to actual current useage would seem like a no brainer.

I found the WiFi in the P-Club in both EWR and CLE too slow to watch online lectures recently - not enough bandwidth. I had better luck with my Verizon card (and that's not saying much). VERY frustrating.
