how would you lose our status as a result of a merger? do you think the surviving entity won't honor earned status? that is just what a "new" airline needs....on top of prickly integration issues, further pis* off customers right out of the gate with eliminating certain customers' statuses.

that's superb but:

1) this is a thread about people that don't care about the merger speculation and

2) CO?

When I think victuals, I tend to consider squirrel jerky, opossum fritters, and live octopus (served in its own ink, no less). I'm more than happy to let CO provide the dessert.

This thread is needed to keep current, for those of us that don't want to sift through 50+ pages of threads

its been mentioned that because United's top tier (excluding million miler and all that) is 100,000 that all CO plat's will essentially be second tier to 1k's. i would no longer be on the top. thats what i meant by losing status...i just didn't explain it. my fault.

Perhaps CO Plats will be grandfathered into 1K for the elite year after the merger, during which time they will have to fly 100k miles to maintain 1K for the following elite year.

Oops - that probably belongs in one of the non-indifferent to a merger threads.
