how would you lose our status as a result of a merger? do you think the surviving entity won't honor earned status? 
that is just what a "new" airline needs....on top of prickly integration issues, further pis* off customers right out of the gate with eliminating certain customers' statuses.

its been mentioned that because United's top tier (excluding million miler and all that) is 100,000 that all CO plat's will essentially be second tier to 1k's. i would no longer be on the top. thats what i meant by losing status...i just didn't explain it. my fault.
Oops - that probably belongs in one of the non-indifferent to a merger threads.
