Row 32 on the 772ER...Is it really

a row with extra legroom at the emergency exit doors ?
I have use the search function and got a list of threads. Read through most of them and all was talking about who should get to pre-reserve them first in advance, who sat in that row being uncapable of lifting, and what not...
Would any long distance road warrior help clearify this issue for me ? I have been on the 772ER 4 times, and all 4 times I used my upgrades.
Thanks in advance, because this coming trip, looks like my luck would start running out early in 2008.
And BTW, would those seats have power port ?
Again, thanks for your help.

There is slightly more legroom at row 32 and depending on what version of the 772 that you get, it will have power.

Just remember that the emergency slide intrudes into the legroom on the window seats.

The best resource for checking aircraft is probably Seatguru. Row does have extra legroom. (When you say that you "use my upgrades," are you referring to the AA eVIP's? AA's B777's are configured a little differently.)

What route are you on?

I ride EWR-TLV-EWR constantly and do whatever I can to secure row 32, even though rows 22 and under have power ports on most 777s. The row has tons of legroom and doesn't require your fellow passengers to stand for you (or for you to stand for them). However, there are some downsides:

1. Aisle seat gets bumped by the cart *every* time.

2. Window seat does have that slide sticking into the legroom, but it's still way more room than an ordinary coach seat.

3. A bit cold by the exit.

4. Passengers congregate while waiting for the bathroom.

Despite all the cons, I prefer 32 over any other coach row that I can get (wish I could get row 16, but that never happens).

Yes, it is a row with extra (a decent amount extra) legroom . . . however, be aware of the following:

1) People walking from the front of the plane walk directly towards the aisle seat (due to lav configuration)--therefore, expect to get bumped a lot (and every time by the cart) and expect nasty looks if you stretch your legs out because you're essentially stretching into their walking area.

2) The window seat's legroom is significantly restricted by a very large slide protruding from the exit door.

3) I don't recall if there's power. Check seatguru.com. I've slept from the point of departure on this flight generally (EWR to LGW).

4) Board early. You do have one small overhead bin close to the seat, but that's really it--you might find yourself with bags all over the place if you don't board early.

5) The bassinet seats for infants are directly across from you (center three seats in that row). Bose headphones are your friend . . .

All that being said, I'd still sit in this row. The legroom outweighs all of that to me.

1) i almost always try to get the aisle and, at 6'2", i do stretch my legs. but, i don't really recall "nasty" looks. as others have said, you will get bumped by every cart and virtually every person that goes by.

2) while the slide does protrude from the door, i don't think it's "significant." you do have to angle your legs if you want to fully outstretch them, but it's not too bad. it's worth it for the extra room. and, if you get cold easily, wear a parka.

3) i don't think there is power.

4) while there is only one overhead directly over the seats, there is an overhead across the aisle (above the aisle middle seat).

I don't think that row 32 has a window, does it? That's a deal breaker for me.

Nope, neither model of CO's 772 have a window at that row.

To me, the slide is rather intrusive as well.

There is power in this row only if you're on one of the newly reconfigured aircraft that has 50 BF seats (ie if row 6 exists). In that case there is power in every seat. Otherwise, power only extends as far back as row 23.
