I think this was requested A LOT. We asked for it in the Product break out as well as Joburg.

I really think DXB will be sooner than later.

I really hope so, CO will get TONS of revenue from me if they start IAH/EWR-DXB. I can't stand JFK to get on Emirates. Absolutely love EK's F product, but JFK is the most miserable connection to DXB. I've actually been conneting in LHR/AMS to avoid JFK. Even better will be when Etihad finally starts IAH-AUH flights. But CO doing IAH-DXB on a 787 with a new BF product will really make my day!

Short sighted.
Maybe CO's concerned customers are writing checks to my friends, the NGOs, instead. Buying an offset (especially from the lousy partner CO has chosen) is like a breath mint - it's a superficial feel good thing. If you are really concerned, you are probably putting your major effort elsewhere.

And one day in the not too distant future, those NGOs are going to send Larry a very nice letter pointing out some facts about climate change and air travel. And if CO ignores it, then they're going to wind up calling up the press and getting naked on the CLE runway or donning suction cup shoes, climbing a 777, and unfurling a banner with something appropriately unpleasant (for CO) written upon it.** And it goes downhill from there.

I'm not all doom and gloom about it; but they'd be fools not to take to seriously. But uptake on their offset is a bad metric for them to rely on.

**Disclaimer: I don't do these sorts of "action" things; but I have known people that do.

Well, at least they didn't decide to go with a single-aisle 5-5 configuration.

I am not sure CO will try to compete with EK out of IAH. With the new flights coming in December, I would not expect CO to compete directly.

They did not publicly elaborate at the DO. I would not expect any changes to C1, C2, or C3.

I asked that question to the "Hub Airports" panel. Like you said, there's no plan to expand any EWR gates right now, as they're not adding any more flights in the near future.

Was there any discussion about Chautauqua? Good, bad, or indifferent at the meeting?

More importantly - is CO management aware (at the level of people who attended) what it has been like flying on those flights the last six months?

Just wondering...

Larry addressed the issue (kind of). He stated that CO cannot fly larger regional jets because of a clause in their pilot's contracts that limit regional traffic to 50 passengers. He said this may change in the future.

He also made a statement that they know the CRJs aren't what people want to ride in and the deal with CHQ was out of necessity. I believe he said that there is a two year contract with them and they will be reviewing options when the time comes.

The slide read: "Other airlines are updating their business class. We get Chautauqua. What Gives?" or something like that.

See the first post in this thread. That was question number 4 and got quite a chuckle out of the crowd when it flashed up on the screens.

I still think they are wrong about E+ though.
Why? They know its a good product for elites. It does add another entire class of service, which means more yield management fr that, and upgrading pax from E to E+, a whole new set of expectations for elites who will be pissed if they get stuck in E- on a last minute ticket, or whatever. when they fill a plane they have to sacrifice those seats to non-elites for free..

WRT reward travel, they hinted at increases going forward, I suspect that they will increase at least the DG10B/FS10B to 120k (TLV), and the BF to DEL/BOM to 120k. Perhaps the sleazypass will go up to 280...

Add on Chautauqua, CO will not be replacing its seat cushions (with only a year contract that makes sense). CO has been and will continue to replace seat cushions on the ExpressJets.

.

If not a major overhaul or replacement for C-1 or C-3, then what is the major construction over the next 10 years at EWR Larry Mentioned?
