Looking for Lost Camera
We lost a fugi camera on a Continental flight from San Diego to Houston to DFW. Continental will look for it until the 7/9 and then give up. Is there an online auction or store that they sell unclaimed lost items? The camera contained our only pictures of my daughter's graduation from high school. Please advise if anyone has any info on Continental sale of unclaimed lost items.:(:(

I don't know of any formal process CO has to unload lost and found gear, unlike the NYC MTA, which has an auction where they unload the stuff all the time. I would assume that the camera is gone. Sorry 'bout that. :(

Sorry to hear about the lost camera and pics.
3 Months ago I left onboard 5 childrens T-shirts from Venezuela I had purchased for my friends children. I called CO and was surprised when they told me "If you do not hear from us in the next 15 days then it is lost". I got the feeling at that moment they were gone for good. I never recovered the shirts and never heard back from CO. Maybe there is another process to follow to reclaim left on board/lost items but I am not aware of it. Maybe I am wrong (as usual) but I would think they would have a better process for instances like this then "if you do not hear from us in XX days then its lost for good". Someone on here did mention at the time about a "Lost & Found" at IAH, but they never replied where it was, at the time I got the impression it was a warehouse offsite that you could visit to search for items. The poster said they were able to recover an item they lost (it was a sportcoat if I remember correctly). |
Found this on the Fly2Houston webpage and thought it might help. Good luck!

The airlines hold on to lost articles for 5 days. They catalog those items in the system with a number. That number remains in the system for 5 days. After the 5 day period items are sent to their centralized warehouse in Iah. The expensive items are shipped via FedEx. The phone number for Co is 1-800-335-2247. Listen to the prompts that refer to lost item. Hopefully this helps.

Good luck to you,-- my experience with a CD's players, a book and binoculars is that it's finders-keepers the moment you leave that seat. And on all 3 incidences above, I hadn't left the gate area when I noticed it, and tried o reclaim the items.
