First Post
I would like to introduce myself to the forum. While being a relatively lowly Silver Elite (and that on NW) I have as suggested by user name close to 62 years flying on CO (or CAL as it is to me).
To stay on forum, most recent travel was MSP-EWR-GVA and OSL-EWR-MSP. CO service was outstanding from website to airport to gate -- yes even in EWR -- no problems transferring luggage, connecting flights etc. We used Elite checkin in both MSP and OSL but it hardly mattered as when we showed up there were more GA's at the desk and kiosks than there were passengers -- and the flights were full. We were 1 hour late out of EWR waiting behind 22 planes after pushback (what else is new?) 767 in coach to GVA was fine for coach -- two seats on the window row. The 757 from OSL was really uncomfortable with me in the middle seat and travelling companion at window. If I had been travelling alone, of course, I'm sure that I could have wangled a better arrangement. Too bad it is only 50% EQM on NW, but I am one of those poor captive hub customers and little to be done about it. Thanks all PS Not many frequent flyer miles on what we used to fly: DEN-COS-PUB-GCK-DDC-GBD-HUT! |
Welcome to FT!
As your first post did not contain any complaints, requests for compensation, or the intent to get CO Insider involved in any issue, I believe you will feel welcome in this forum. |
Welcome, CALlegacy.

Welcome to FT! Best first post I have ever read....

Welcome to FT...I look forward to hearing your stories of the old days...do you know when the first PC opened?

Welcome to FT, and especially to the CO Forum - The forum that's nuttier than a bag full of squirrels

Hey, if a poster doesn't complain or act wacky, should they go to the penalty box? |
worldwidedreamer, I don't specifically remember first PC clubs. I suspect when I was flying less sometime between the earlier CO years and the more recent ones today.
One thing I have tried to create is a list of CO aircraft types I have flown on and have come up with: DC-3 Convair 240 Convair 340 Convair 440 DC-6B DC-7B Viscount II (far and away my favorite airliner) B707-1xx B707-320C (I think) B720 B737 B757 B767 ER3 ER4 (and I sure would take the ER over the Pinnacle(NW) CRJ) Wish I could have been on a Lockheed Electra (the first one -- two engine prop) as that would have gone back to the beginning. Have been on the Electra II on Eastern or American sometime I know. Thanks |

Welcome to FT!
I too was going to ask about the B747, B777, DC-10 or the Airbus--I think it was an A300--that CAL used to fly. |

Yep, A300-B4's...make AA's current crop of B6's look positively modern in comparison.
