New tally:

SPG stays between now and end of Aug.: 4
(3 before end of promo)

Hyatt stays between now and end of Aug: 2
(all are BWB free nights in Waikiki)

I suddenly will be close to SPG Platinum again if there is a double stay promo (oh please, oh, please, etc.). :D

80k for JFK-SFO. Probably mid-tier, but it was last minute.

Can re-deposit if you find a low award.

When burning remaining DL miles, WWTBD?
3. Montana and/or Wyoming at the end of July

To my taste: Jackson, Cody, or West Yellowstone. All three DL via STL worst case, all three spectacular that time of year, particularly the first two, and Cody gives you Yellowstone from the other side.

Anyone know when the fall colors would be at their peak in Calgary? Early October?

Generally, earlier.

It would cost me $100 in redeposit fees, likely not worth it to have orphaned DL miles. For 30k i don't think i could even do MSP-DTW.

You need to update your "programs" in your profile then ;)

Sadly, DL doesn't have any availability on the weekend I needed, so that may be out.

I may have to take a chance at some of the colors still being around in early October as I don't have a free weekend in September.

Can't be governor of TX if you haven't shot something or somebody. I think it's in the state Constitution.

In Texas, this involves a handgun if you are the governor ;)

I had already delivered that punchline ;). And Perry's indeed a bad man if he can shoot a snake with a handgun while - or immediately after - running. That's all I have to say about that.

Nothing at all bad about Alberta. There are websites that monitor and blog the Rockies' leaf colors starting in early Sept. If it looks like the colors are moving faster than you need, then re-bank the miles or do the aurora quest. After Sept, it's more likely than not to have aurora in AK, I believe.

Good night Box. I will not be back until I have heard the snap of a glove for my annual physical. <<Fasting from now on>>
