Exit Row Pets

Has anyone had any experience with bringing pets and selecting seats in an (overwing) exit row? I cannot find anything on the CO site about this, but would rather not find out at the last minute that CO excludes cats from these locations and then have us separated into middle seats.
Thanks
Ed

Is your cat willing and able to assist in the event of an emergency?:D

Try asking CO via email so that if they say it's OK you have something you can print out and show the FA since they'll likely not know but may just tell you what they think the rule is / should be.

peace,

No, the real issue is if if the cat is over 15 :D
My aunt's cat would make it (24-ish or so at this point...I'm assuming it is still alive) but I don't think it would do much good with assisting anyone.

Does the cat's carrier fit fully underneath the seat in front of you? Can you you put the cat carrier (with the cat inside) in the overhead?

If the answer to both of these questions is no, then I don't see how you could sit in an exit row seat.

I've been on two flights where people with pets were moved from the exit row. After they were seated, the FA noticed on the manifest they had carried on a pet and moved the people...and the cats.

Quoted from the FA manual.....

"A customer with a pet container may not be assigned a bulkhead seat or an exit seat."

So, no. You can not sit in an exit/bulkhead seat if you have a pet.

Thank you! I was afraid of this. I will plan accordingly. Please do us cat people a favor and advise the people that develop the info for the CO site on pets to add this to the information available there.

And, it really is 2 cats. I was planning on putting myself, wife, and daughter in a 3 seat exit row along with the 2 cats, so as not to involve anyone else. I guess I'll have to develop a plan B.

I have queried both cats and both have answered in the affirmative. :)

I checked with the cats and they both have misplaced their government issued ID. Do you think the CO folks will accept my word that they are 15+ :)

Yes and Yes (cats are 9 pds and 10 pds, but could be put on a diet). But I know I would not like being stuck in a dark overhead for 3 hours and I suspect the cats would not like it either. :)

Might one measure the cat's age in dog years?

I think they are good for on the wing seats, uhh, I mean over the wing seats. That or unpressurized storage. ;)

Yes, CO will allow you to. I'd bet the bartender in the PClub would give them a drink without ID too....esp if your cats look like my aunt's cat at this age.

Yes, I have brought a pet and placed it in the carrier under the seat in the exit row. According to CALflyboi the FAs should not have allowed this, but I guess it does happen.
