Assuming that you just transposed a few letters in the word "used." But the transposition made for a heck of a funny sentence!

I came into OP through EA. My OP card says member since 1987, but my first CO flight was in 2000. I recall flying EA the night that it shut down. Landed in MIA around midnight and we were told we were on one of the "last flights" as they officially shut down at midnight.

My OP card says member since 1985 and I came via Eastern. In fact, I still have a lot of their memorobelia around. EA was the first to run cheap weekend flights, which I took much advantage of, and which started my 'addiction'.

Those were the good old days.

I went to high school in Houston and college in Boston (89-93) and became very familiar with the last days of CO right before its final BK. (Interestingly enough Lorenzo's kids went to my school.)

CO then was a college student's dream, the really average service kept business travelers away and I could always get a full row in coach to stretch out and sleep. I seemed to always have the 2 rows past the galley in the rear all to myself on MD-80s. (Yes you arrived deaf from the engines being right there). I seemed to remember it was always $303 RT if you planned ahead.

Tired planes and you never knew what they would look like, having had so many prior owners (Frontier, PE, NY, EA).

There were the Amex college vouchers that required you to book no earlier than 2 weeks out. (IIRC they took over from NW who was Amex's partner. NW at the time was flying high and had just tied up with KLM) Regular weekends were great, but using them for vacations was a nightmare.

My original Onepass Card has both logos, EA and CO.

Anyone else take one of EA's redeyes? You could only take carryon luggage since the hold was full of mail. We took it as a family from IAH-NYC and got in at ~2AM. That was a wild trip for a Jr. High kid.

Also IIRC, add to the "transfer" of assets to CO from EA SystemOne the GDS that is now Amadeus, EA had to pay CO to book tickets.

I'll dig around and see what I still have from that time period and scan it in.

Speaking of EA good old days, I remember flying on their L1011s IAH-JFK. They served a hot, tasty potato soup in Y.
