Croatia or bust....
Hi all. I live in SEA and am trying to go to ZAG this summer for a vacation. I havent gotten smart on the milage game and thus have miles spread out among a bunch of carriers…40,000 miles on AA, 24,000 miles on CO, 32,000 miles on UA and 37,000 Membership Reward points.
Should I consolidate my MR miles to One Pass and then try to use miles on KLM or NW to get to AMS or CDG and then pay for the connection to ZAG? Also I noticed that there was a BusinessFirst sale to Europe this summer but I could find any flights from SEA. So should I use miles to get to IAH or EWR and then pay the $999 or $1099 to fly in BusinessFirst to CDG and then pay for a connection to ZAG? Or should I call AA or UA and see if I can do some cash/miles combo? Help please... |
Your best bet using CO miles would be direct SEA-CDG-ZAG on AF
could also fly with AZ via MXP, or with OK via PRG, or even SU via SVO. There should be no reason why you would have to buy any extra legs with SkyTeam. Availibility for summer is another question. |
Depends on how you want to fly? If you want a first class or business class seat then you might get lucky using miles to get to EWR and buying an R fare from there to Europe. If you can get to a city which Croatia Airlines flys to I think they are fairly cheap.
If you just want to do the trip in coach, then find out what alliance can get you there on a standard award (50k) and transfer your miles to AA, CO, or UA respectively. |
