You know the bad thing about taking one of these front row seats as a non-elite... unless you are a line jumper you board the plane nearly dead last. By that time if the flight if full, all of the overhead space is gone... better hope you only have one carry on and it is small enough to fit under your seat.

Sure you might get off the plane first, but you seriously increase your chances of having to gate check your carry on.
