I've had good luck with the golf clubs before. The X-20 Irons for 79,000 points typically are $699+ . I may pick these up as a spare set for my Florida residence. Note that the Taylor Driver is 9.5 degrees, something not for me.

Nothing I need this time, though at least three different cameras to choose from.

Also in the email is the offer for 5,000 bonus miles for renting a car with Budget. It appears you can also get triple miles (i.e. 150/day) on the rental as well.

Be careful though. I did a 'bonus" deal with Budget a year ago and have yet to see the 3,000 bonus miles. Many faxes and calls and nothing ever came out of it. Maybe an isolated event but keep your paperwork!!!!

Does anyone know whether you have to rent an Intermediate car to get the bonus or is it a car of any size?

Budget 5,000 Miles With Intermediate or Higher

Here is the text from the email on Budget:

Budget
Earn 5,000 miles when you book at continental.com.
Need a car on vacation? Travel Club members receive 5,000 OnePass® bonus miles* when you book your rental with Budget. Plus, earn triple miles (150 miles per day) on your next qualifying rental of an Intermediate through Full-size, four-door car at participating Budget locations in the U.S and Europe. Simply sign in at continental.com, and book your Budget car rental through May 31, 2007.

Rent a car now.

*The 5,000 OnePass bonus miles may be earned only one time per Travel Club member and will be deposited after a rental has been completed with Budget. Budget will provide Continental with information confirming that the reservation has been completed. The booking must have been made at continental.com by a Travel Club member. Credit postings may take up to three weeks after the promotion ends.

I am a Travel Club member and no e-mail for me yet either. Aside from the little pool of money for making on-line bookings, the program is a disappointment. I thought it was going to be something cool, but it's not. Seriously, though, what is the point of this program? Is it even a money-maker for Continental? If its intent was to be a good marketing tool, it seems like it's failing because no one ever hears anything about it except for sporadic "deals".
