Cloning Two Trips Together
I currently am booked on a Fri-Mon trip to play golf and I'm flying on CO (EWR-LAS-EWR). My admin just now booked me onto a Mon-Tue business trip EWR-YYZ-EWR). Since my arrival PHX-EWR on Monday is less than an hour from my departure EWR-YYZ), she asked CO if I could get the two trips cloned onto one reservation, so that if I am delayed on my LAS trip, I would be protected on my YYZ trip.
As you might've guessed, CO said that it couldn't be done, and that my only recourse is to cancel one trip and then modify the LAS trip to include a YYZ R/T. I've done this in the past, but not lately. Does anybody know if CO stopped cloning two reservations into one, or do I simply need to play dial-a-CSR? Thanks. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CO: Continental Airlines Fri: Friday Mon: Monday Tue: Tuesday Admin: Administrative assistant or secretary CSR: customer service representative (these are people who work the telephone lines on behalf of the airline and make and change reservations for you) R/T: Round-trip (this is when you fly from Point A to Point B and then back to Point A LAS: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America YYZ: Toronto, Ontario, Canada |
Cloning? I think perhaps, you're thinking of merging the records, so they're tied together. Cloning would be making an exact copy.
Honestly, unless you want to cancel them, I don't think there's much you can do. If your plane is late going back, I'd let them know at your departure city, and see what they can do. I've found CO pretty good about this. Perhaps your admin needs to consider your connecting times a bit closer. I'd never have a less than 2 hour connection at EWR. 3 hours for an international is what I prefer. I don't think we need the list of abbreviations at the end of the post, either. ;) |
