Trying to Understand the Upgrade Process

I am flying early Monday from JFK to SEA, returning Monday night. I have cleared the return in F, and am still showing economy for the first outbound, even though there is only one seat assigned in the F cabin as of this morning.

I had called the day after the 5 day window, and the agent couldn't understand why that flight didn't upgrade, but she couldn't force it either.

It's still wide open, and still showing economy--I did hedge my bets however and got exit rows all the way.

Any thoughts? I am a Plat and it's a Q fare.

Thanks

You will be given a seat if F inventory is open at the time that the EUA runs. F inventory is not the same as A/D/C/J/Z/R which are tickets for sale. CO will not give you the seat for free if they think they can sell it.

Since you're flying JFK-SEA, I assume you're connecting in IAH, right? You will actually clear the upgrades for each segment individually.
